Summary: Collection consists of letters, resolutions, and other materials concerning the construction of an art museum in Santa Fe in 1915. Includes agreements for the purchase of land owned by the Santa Fe Board of Education on the corner of Palace and Lincoln Avenues for an art museum to be built by the Museum of New Mexico; letters of endorsement from local organizations such as the Woman's Board of Trade and Library Association; and petitions signed by local citizens supporting the purchase. The building was to be based on the New Mexico State Building called "Cathedral of the Desert" at the Panama-Pacific Exposition of 1915 in San Diego. The building was constructed and is now the Museum of New Mexico's Museum of Fine Arts.
